About the UHN Specialty Laboratory

The UHN Specialty Laboratory is located on the 3rd floor, Room 3-EB-337, Toronto General Hospital, University Health Network. The mission of this laboratory is to develop and commercialize novel analytical methodologies for a diverse array of analytes, mainly by using mass spectrometry instrumentation.

Services Fall into Two Categories

1. Development of methods for various analytes (e.g. drugs, metabolites, peptides, proteins) and then using these methods to analyze samples of interest such as biological fluids, tissues, etc. This service will include a start-up fee for developing the assay and then charge on a per sample basis.
2. For methodologies that have already been developed (see our menu under 'currently available assays'), clients will be charged per sample analyzed. Pricing will depend on the number of samples and the frequency of testing (e.g. one time only vs concurrent testing).

Clients for this laboratory will include research scientists, pharmaceutical companies, private laboratories and clinical trial organizations.
