Instrumentation and Personnel

The UHN Specialty Laboratory employs three dedicated Mass Spectrometrists. Current instrumentation includes:

• Two Agilent Technologies 5973 MSD Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry analyzers with an EI/CI ionization source
• An ABI/Sciex API 5000 LC/MS/MS with APCI and ESI ion source
• A Thermo Quantum Ultra Triple-Quadruple LC/MS/MS Mass Spectrometer
• A Thermo LTQ ion-trap LC/MS/MS Analyzer
• A Thermo Orbitrap XL, LC/MS/MS Analyzer

The Facility also operates a bioinformatics suite (Transproteomic pipeline).
